    b. compile a list nearby neighbor who have special skills, e.g. working or retired medical personnel

    c. buy and store nonperishable food and drinks for weeks

    d. know how to find emergency shelters in your town

In communial living, these emergency help are shared expenses that are taken care of by the communial organization that runs the place. Residents need not prepare or think about such preparation themselves. Although collectively, residents must still shoulder the costs. But they are much lower per person nor do they need to be concerned with installation, maintainence, and repair. This is a great convenience and peace of mind.
