数学家哈尔莫斯的自传 “I want to be a mathematician”,较早的有马元德等人的中文翻译《我要作数学家》,沈永欢翻译的第二部分,译者还有胡作玄和赵慧琪。其中的一个小节名 Writing for a living,沈先生将其译为“著书为稻粱谋”,最近另有张十铭新的译本,译为“著书谋生”。

我喜欢这个“著书为稻粱谋”,当然两者都好,标题借鉴于此。

是的,Doing research for a living,科研为稻粱谋,做研究就是为了谋生。

有高尚者如数学家所言:数学家工作是为了得到少许同事的吝啬钦佩

但是在下不才,做研究就是为了混口饭吃。赶上了好时代,“多收了三五斗”,那就是下面所有期刊论文的发表。

猜测有人喜欢 low profile 低调,未去打扰征求许可,其他作者姓名略,本人要么是第一作者,要么是唯一作者。前两篇可自由下载,“推导内容”依稀可见,为此有责,其他时间久远,隐隐约约了

其中的第二篇文章,如果世界是平的 flat 可以像北大韦神的工作那样,写入教科书,至少是留个旁注:那个天才告诉你“霍曼转移”最优

澳洲博士论文里面,有一个刻画条件相对熵的公式很有趣,被两个美国人博士论文使用。

文章少之又少,发表越来越难,除了那些“卵翼之下”。

借用一下曾经很火的一句物理学“流言”,少即是多,less is more,不敢说每一篇都是经典,可以说篇篇是精髓,是的,一片山河,一片血,那精髓来自于血的代价,发表得少,活得才能久远,这过程成就了一个“成熟”的我,不是一般地急,“一万年太久,只争朝夕”,哈哈。

时下正办理退休,彻彻底底隐于市了,同时为长远之计修理牙齿,感谢医生不为稻粱谋,为患者健康先,时而高兴时而痛苦,加上韦神之事,有所感怀,同时检索 "Li Xie" 者众,“鱼目混珠”,清者自清,写下此文,权作鸿爪留泥。
