Nanomedicine is considered one of the most promising technologies and has broadly developed as the application of nanotechnology to medicine. The therapeutic applications of nanomedicine have increased exponentially, offering impressive options for various health and medicinal issues in recent years. Many different systems and strategies with considerable potential for enabling more effective and less toxic therapeutic interventions have been investigated in the nanomedicine field, with significant efforts and progress. This Special Issue highlights key aspects of nanomedicine design, synthesis, and characterization. Furthermore, it discusses the nanotoxicology and biocompatibility challenges associated with these nanomedicine and nanocarriers, their potential in therapeutic applications, and the quantitative analysis methods employed.

This Special Issue in Nano Biomedicine and Engineering (NBE) aims to provide a platform to showcase the recent progress and challenges in the field of nanomedicine. The scope of the collection is broad, including but not limited to

  • Design, synthesis and characterization of nanomedicine: inorganic, polymers, liposomes, etc.

  • Drug delivery systems

  • Biocompatibility and nanotoxicology of nanomedicine

  • Application of nanodevices and nanomedicine in disease diagnosis and treatment

  • Quantitative analysis methods for nanomedicine

We hope that readers find this Special Issue informative and useful for the rational design, construction and further clinical translation of nanomedicine and nanodevices. This call for papers is open for the following article types:

  • Research Article

  • Review

Open for submission until 15 August 2024

If you would like to contribute to this Special Issue, you can submit your article directly through the NBE online submission service. The Editorial Office reserves the right to check the suitability of submissions in relation to the scope of both the journal and the collection, and the inclusion of accepted articles in the Special Issue is not guaranteed. Please also note that all submissions will undergo our normal rigorous peer review processes.
