Altmetric是最近几年新兴的评价论文影响力的指标，是网络社会化背景下的产物，是为了满足当今社会化分享的大趋势。Altmetric指标可以反映论文的关注度和分享情况。有的论文发表以后，被大家广泛转载，网络媒体报道，Twitter或者G+上评论和分享,而传统的影响因子就不能反应这些分享或转载等指标。Altmetric就是在这种情况下出现的，它可以反应一篇文章的大家分享程度，可以反应某一论文分享、下载、阅读的情况和认可程度。
