You are chatting with a friend, or a colleague, or a co-worker. Suddenly, a topic comes up, which makes you uncomfortable. What do you do then?
You could say politely: "I don't want to talk about this." Or, you could say:
"I don't want to hear about this."
"Let's talk about something else."
If the other party is not smart enough to change the subject, then you should find a way to get out of there as fast as you can.
