Activities I used to enjoy but can no longer do

As one age, one finds that activities I use to enjoy but can no longer do. Number one on the list is skiing which I first learned to do  in 1953 and our family enjoyed as a group every winter in NH and/or on vacation until 2010 when the danger of broken bones and being laid up became a serious business. The feeling of making a perfect turn on pristine slopes became a fond memory. Next on the list is travel and hiking up a mountain or trail. Physical stamina nowadays limit me to walking less than a mile at a time. While I am still walking without a cane, reaching a mountain top and enjoying the panoramic view are somethng I no longer attempt at age nearly 91. Last year I had to opt out when my wife and children went hiking in Italy - her favorite country and where she speak the local language. In their place, I now do physical and mental exercises six days a week to slow the inevitable physical and cognitive decline and the quality of daily living. Note I am not complaining. Watching old movies, attending lectures and concerts, and socializing with friends keep me busier than ever in this senior retirement community . Life is good.
