Typical European and American enterprises in China which often have nice office in urban core area of large cities and small and medium-sized satellite cities in coastal areas. But they slowly formed a bureaucratization since they entered the Chinese market especially large multinational enterprises.
In my opinion, the culture of GE Lighting is more like other international companies with hierarchical structure, but the restaurant is very good. In my department of GE Lighting, there are many senior managers. And also, there many employees under every senior manager. There are many levels in multi-national companies such as GE.
My supervisor is a nice guy. It’s easy to work with him. But the boss of him and me, the senior design manager of LED driver group, who always challenge me so much. It’s not comfortable to work with him.
In every Wednesday morning of my four months in GE Lighting, we will hold a technique meeting with US’s co-workers to discuss the project’s progress and issues. In this meeting, it’s showtime for the senior manager. We have very few opportunities to directly communicate with our colleagues in the US.
The culture of small- and medium-sized domestic private enterprises in China, Daily meetings are always arranged at 9: 00 AM. The timing is not reasonable. Be on duty is not flexible, it has strict clocking in time.
And management is bad and chaos, and R&D engineers and manager endure more stress from PM and R&D director.
