投稿信，也就是Cover Letter，是作者向SCI期刊投稿时写给编辑的信，说服编辑您的工作是重要的/新颖的，从而影响编辑决定是否要进一步考虑您的稿件。
01 Cover Letter需包含的基本信息：
-编辑的名字（如已知）和期刊名称；
-稿件标题和文章类型（评论、原创研究、案例报告等）；
-提交日期；
-简要背景和研究问题/假设；
-方法/结果的简要概述；
-主要发现和意义；
-通讯作者联系方式；
-声明您的稿件未曾发布过，未在其他地方投稿，所有作者均已批准提交。
02 其他常见要求的信息：
-期刊之前发表的类似文章的简短列表；
-您或您的合作者之前发表的相关词汇列表；
-与编辑之前的讨论（比如拒稿后重投）；
-推荐的审稿人及联系信息；
-推荐回避的审稿人及理由；
-期刊要求的其他披露（遵守道德标准、利益冲突、版权转让等）。
03 Cover Letter中不应包含的内容：
-过多的行业术语或缩写；
-过度美化研究结果及其意义；
-避免使用诸如“新颖”、“范式转变”、“变革性”等易产生偏见的词汇；
-过多讨论您或您合作者的声誉的文字；
-避免幽默：一个简单的玩笑可能会被不同文化背景的编辑误解；
-其他不相关的信息。Cover Letter最多一页！

第二段参考（告知期刊编辑，稿件符合期刊收录范围）：
Given that [促使您研究的背景], we believe that the findings presented in our paper will appeal to the [读者群体] who subscribe to [期刊名称]. Our findings will allow your readers to [期刊的目标和范围与你的论文一致的方面].
识别期刊的典型受众以及这些人如何利用您的研究扩展他们对某一主题的理解，包括为什么必须解决这一研究问题的背景信息。
如果您的论文是由之前的研究引发的，请声明这一点。例如， “After initially researching X, Y approached us to conduct a follow-up study that examined Z. While pursuing this project, we discovered [一些新的理解，这使您决定需要通过出版与同行分享这些信息]”。
第三段参考（论文创新性）：
This manuscript expands on the prior research conducted and published by [某作者] in [期刊名称].
或者：

第四段参考（未发表声明）：
Each of the authors confirms that this manuscript has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration by any other journal. Additionally, all of the authors have approved the contents of this paper and have agreed to the [投稿期刊名]'s submission policies.
如果您之前已在其他地方公开分享过您研究的某种形式或部分，请声明。例如， “We have presented a subset of our findings [事件]/ [出版媒介的类型] in [地点] in [年份].”
第五段参考（推荐审稿人）：
Should you select our manuscript for peer review, we would like to suggest the following potential reviewers/referees because they would have the requisite background to evaluate our findings and interpretation objectively.

建议包括3-5位审稿人，因为期刊很可能会采纳至少一位您的建议。但需要提前了解期刊是否允许推荐审稿人，详情参考LetPub最新SCI投稿评论系统和目标期刊《作者指南》。
注意：使用目标期刊使用的术语（“reviewer”或“referee”）。
