Yale is a Princeton-esque university (他在普林斯顿出生). They both have the same atmosphere and aura. They have the traditional buildings, they are both not over a mile long, and they have those nice wooden towers with thousands of paper bulletins stuck on to them (我语:很搞笑).
For the students here, there is competition within Yale and against other colleges. Our guide described his dorm as the best and shamed all the rest. During Yale's first years, the president of USA at the time encouraged Yale-ys to compete in sports and academics. Whenever he visited athletic games and kicked his shoes, the Yaleys would win. The statue erected for him has a shoe which people can rub for good luck, which is why it remains so shiny (我语:我都没注意听这段).
The biggest library at Yale has a "beehive" infrastructure. The outside is designed like a book of empty postage stamps with marble in between each stamp gap. Inside there is huge array of books including old collections.
