“灰网”致力于灰色文献的开放存取

 

去年我曾写过一篇短博文“什么是灰色文献 (Grey Literature)？”（http://www.sciencenet.cn/m/user_content.aspx?id=21494），介绍灰色文献的含义。今在此发文，介绍一个专门从事灰色文献领域研究、出版、开放存取和教育的专业机构及网站——“灰网”（GreyNet, http://www.greynet.org/）。

 

“灰网”的全称是灰色文献网络服务（Grey Literature Network Service）是由位于荷兰阿姆斯特丹的灰色网络国际（GreyNet International）运营维护的。

 

“灰网”创建于1992年，它的使命是促进灰色文献领域个人与机构之间的对话、研究和沟通。“灰网”继续致力于在网络环境下鉴别和传播有关灰色文献的信息。其主要活动包括有关灰色文献的国际学术会议系列（已经连续举办12届），创建和维护基于网络的资源，适当的程序，综合的传播列表，灰色期刊，以及灰色文献领域的课程开发等。其中灰色期刊创刊于2005年，每年出版3期，已经连续出版16期了，每期确定一个专题，刊登同一专题的文章。

 

灰色文献信息以不受商业化出版控制的电子版和印刷版形式产生于各级政府机构、学术团体、商业和产业部门，也就是产生于出版不是各生产主体主要业务活动的地方。

 

另据披露，灰网收集的会议论文预印本可以通过开放存取实时、综合的获取了，网址为http://www.greynet.org/opensiglerepository.html。灰色文献领域最具实效最综合的知识库于2010年10月13日正式对图书馆和信息科学领域的研究者、学生以及科技交叉领域的信息实践者和专业人士的社区开放。

 

灰色文献不正式出版，来源分散，难以收集和获取。“灰网”将为灰色文献的收集和传播搭建一个很好的平台，通过开放存取有利于这类信息的传播和使用。

Mission Statement
The Grey Literature Network Service was founded in 1992. The goal of GreyNet is to facilitate dialog, research, and communication between persons and organisations in the field of grey literature. GreyNet further seeks to identify and distribute information on and about grey literature in networked environments. Its main activities include the International Conference Series on Grey Literature, the creation and maintenance of web-based resources, a moderated Listserv, a combined Distribution List, The Grey Journal (TGJ), as well as curriculum development in the field of grey literature.

 

Grey Literature "Information produced on all levels of government, academics, business and industry in electronic and print formats not controlled by commercial publishing i.e. where publishing is not the primary activity of the producing body." (Luxembourg, 1997 - Expanded in New York, 2004)
