Most hotels in China still don't provide non-smoking rooms. The response I often get is "It's a non-smoking room as long as YOU don't smoke." I remember I was in tears one evening, because of the smell emitted from the carpet in my hotel room. These days, I often wake up from cigaret smell from next door, or gasoline fume from buses in the parking lot below. Today, I have to shut my office door, with a sign saying "Coming in, Please." The hallway on the 12th floor is filled with smoke every so often. I don't know how long I can survive in such environment.
