Who is interested in performing a PhD study within the framework of the China Scholarship Council in the Laboratory of Experimental Cardiology of the Leiden University Medical Center? We offer the student the opportunity to perform state-of-the-art multidisciplinary research in a dynamic/international research environment using a blend of biochemical, cell biological, molecular biological and electrophysiological techniques as well as animal experiments and experiments with human cardiac tissue. Our current focus is on cardiac gene therapy, optogenetics and the development of in silico, in vitro and in vivo disease models and drug screening platforms for cardiac arrhythmias, fibrosis and heart failure.  We have several appealing projects related to these topics ready-to-go.
