CNN just carried live  minutes ago that President Obama is appointing the Republican Governer of Utah state, Jon   Huntsman   as the Ambassador to China. Mr.  Huntsman is the youngest amabassador of the US and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. He has seven children including one adopted from China, For more see

This is a very smart move for several reasons:

1.  Huntsman is extremely well qualified - he has studied in Taiwan, been ambassador to Singapore,and is an acknowledged China expert .

2. He showed inclusiveness by appointing a Republican.

3. He removed a very popular governor from a heavily Republiucan state. This will allow Democrats in Utah to have a chance in the next state election

4. Huntsman is one of very  few moderate Republicans left in the GOP.. Inviting him into the administration will further isolate the Republican party into an extreme position.
