I was taking a nap today and a worker from the BrookHaven (our retirement living community) maintenance rang the doorbell. Apparently they do annual check (we have been here one year and 3 weeks) on the proper functioning of all alarm devices, replace the batteries on devices and filters on heating and air conditioning, make sure all appliances are working and record their serial numbers for the file. They even relocated the alarm button in our bedroom so that I can reach it from my bed. I don't even know any home owner is so detailed. Another reason BrookHaven is nationally rated as among the top 10 in the nation as a retirement community. Our children can rest easy that their parents are well looked after.
