For so long, the existence of aliens has been a myth, something used to scare children and whip Ancient Alien theorists into a frenzy. Like the Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot, aliens are just creatures created by wild imaginations - or are they? Adam Frank, an astrophysics professor at the University of Rochester, wrote an editorial for The New York Times about aliens being real figures from the past. He presents a really intriguing argument, stating that aliens once inhabited the galaxy. He, along with astronomer Woodruff Sullivan, published a study that shows "while we do not know if any advanced extraterrestrial civilizations currently exist in our galaxy, we now have enough information to
Sorry, everybody. We’re just not that special. In more than five decades of scanning the heavens, the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) has found no sign of alien life. Yet now two American astronomers, in the scientific equivalent of a back-of-the-envelope calculation, are estimating that over the course of its history the universe has seen at least half a trillion technologically advanced species. The paper in Astrobiology by Adam Frank and Woodruff Sullivan notes that, in just the last few years, we’ve gained a much clearer sense of how hospitable the universe is to life. NASA’s Kepler space telescope has identified thousands of planets in our neighborhood of the galaxy, along
Some UFO researchers and investigators even claim that there are underwater alien bases present in the vicinity of these aquatic sightings. California has been a UFO hot spot for years, so when it was theorized that a structure discovered 600 meters (2,000 ft) below the water 10 kilometers (6 mi) off the coast of Malibu was in fact an alien base, it didn’t come as that much of a surprise. The alleged alien base was first brought into the public arena when Jimmy Church, who hosts the radio show Fade To Black, acted upon information given to him by a listener, who went by the name of “Maxwell.” Maxwell gave coordinates from Google Earth that showed something he believed may be an artificial structure.
“Improvements in astronomical observation technology have moved us from retail to wholesale planet discovery,” writes University of Rochester professor of astrophysics Adam Frank in an op-ed piece for The New York Times. Frank’s piece, titled, “Yes, There Have Been Aliens,” argues that, at some point before humans existed, there were probably aliens. Frank refers to an equation conceived in 1961 by a man named Frank Drake (yes, their names are easy to confuse) who was invited to host a conference on the possibilities of communication between solar systems.
