Observatory running for 20 years, tracking more than 24,000 passes of target satellites
Through technological upgrading, the observatory' has achieved the abilities of day-light ranging and high-frequency ranging. According to incomplete statistics, by the end Jan 2014, Beijing Fangshan observatory's satellite laser ranging system has been running for nearly 20 years, and has acquired more than 24,000 passes of target satellites including not only Chinese surveying and mapping satellite, ocean satellite and Beidou navigation satellites, but also overseas geodynamic satellites with retroreflectors. Through technological upgrading, the observatory' has achieved the abilities of day-light ranging and high-frequency ranging.
