意大利研究人员发现，每天饮用三杯咖啡可降低患肝癌风险。论文2013年5月6日在线发表于《临床胃肠病学和肝病学杂志》（Clinical Gastroenterology andHepatology）。

研究人员收集了1996年到2012年9月之间的文章进行荟萃分析，最终纳入了16项高质量研究，共3153例病例。研究中的部分数据表明，每天饮用三杯咖啡可减少患肝癌风险达50%以上。研究人员表示，原发性肝癌是可以避免的，通过接种乙肝病毒疫苗，控制丙型肝炎病毒传播和减少饮酒三个措施，原则上可避免90%以上的原发性肝癌。
