2007年5月，ISI（the Institute for Scientific Information）统计了1997-2007在太阳能电池研究领域发表论文总被引频次、论文总数、单篇被引频次排名前20的国家名单。中国排名居中，与美国、德国和日本等发达国家差距还非常大。ISI还分别统计了1997-2007和2005-2007单篇被引最高的两篇文章：
