Dates & Location: The 2010 Forum on Philosophy, Engineering, and Technology (fPET-2010) will be held in 9-10 May 2010 (Sunday evening through Monday) as a one-day intensive meeting at the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO.
History: This event is a further outgrowth of the Workshop on Philosophy and Engineering (WPE-2007 in Delft and WPE-2008 in London); it is organized by WPE co-founder and engineering co-chair (2007 and 2008), David E. Goldberg, together with immediate past president of the Society for Philosophy and Technology, Diane P. Michelfelder, and noted philosopher of technology, Carl Mitcham along with others interested in building bridges between existing engineering and philosophy organizations.
Mission: The forum’s mission is (1) to encourage reflection on engineering, engineers, and technology by philosophers and engineers alike and (2) to build bridges between existing organizations of philosophers and of engineers.
