As if we were face to face.

With this letter, I bid you farewell forever.

When I write these words, I am still among the living;

When you read them, I shall already be a shade in the underworld.

Ink and tears fall together as I write.

Yet I fear you may not understand my heart,

May think I could bear to leave you and die,
