生物活性：Neocarzinostatin 是一种有效的DNA 损伤 抗肿瘤抗生素，可识别双链 DNA 凸起并诱导 DNA 双链断裂 (DSBs)。 Neocarzinostatin 诱导细胞凋亡。 Neocarzinostatin 具有治疗 EpCAM 阳性癌症的潜力^[1][2]。 

体外：EpCAM 适体偶联的新制癌菌素 (NCS) 显示出对 EpCAM 阳性细胞的特异性。缀合物对癌细胞的影响令人印象深刻，因为缀合物会阻止细胞周期并促进细胞凋亡和坏死。高水平的 PARP 表达证实了 DNA 在缀合物处理后断裂。与 EpCAM 结合的 NCS 可以靶向癌细胞而保留正常细胞^[3]。Neocarzinostatin（72 小时）对 C6 细胞和 U87MG 的 IC₅₀ 值细胞分别为493.64 nM、462.96 nM^[4]。在不同组织来源的人肿瘤细胞系中，对新制癌素的敏感性与Bcl-2相对含量的乘积成正比和 caspase-3^[5]。
