M13病毒的神奇应用

最近听到一个韩国人Lee(http://leelab.berkeley.edu/)的报告,他们就用M13病毒蛋白可以形成螺旋直链结构的特性模拟collagen的特性。他们从美国卖火鸡的地方买了很多火鸡头,实际是免费的,因为美国人不吃鸡头,从鸡头里面提取collagen,发明collage的组织结构,然后用M13病毒蛋白形成的螺旋链合成类似结构的物质。下面这个联接的movie可以看到这种物质的神奇特性,如果你用手指轻压,机械力就会转化成电能,电能可以使手机屏幕电子屏显示数字。他们下一步打算把这个装置装在心脏起搏器上,心脏跳动的机械能可以自动给起搏器充电。中国就是缺少这种有点独特创新的研究,跟踪国外的东西太多,文章是很重要,但不应该是全部,创新的地方还是太少。
