三,老师如何看待学生的反馈:

Hearing positive feedback from a student can make your day. Conversely a negative comment could ruin it. So when interpreting qualitative feedback it is important to keep these things in mind…

1.       Comments tend to come from the margins – students who are either very satisfied or very dissatisfied, however they nevertheless often provide valuable insights into how a course might be improved.

2.       Negative comments may not be reflective of the class experience. They may be from a minority of disgruntled students - determine the proportion of negative to positive comments to help you keep things in perspective.

3.       Negative comments can also be constructive. Take the essence of constructive feedback on board but ignore the noise. A student’s negative experience may be the result of other pressures or a reflection of their own effort (although it is still important to consider if there is anything else you could do to support struggling students).

4.       Students have different learning styles and preferences. Some students like personal anecdotes – other’s don’t. You can’t keep everyone happy all the time!
