Geomorphology是国际地貌学界公认的最权威学术刊物，在国际地貌学发展过程中具有引领作用。每年前25热门论文引人关注，这些论文无疑对国际地貌学发展起到重要作用。近年来，我们在Geomorphology上发表论文并不是很少，几乎每期都有1-2篇。但是高引论文比较少，以2009-2010年度该刊前25大热门论文为例，只有1篇上榜，且排名第10。有意思的是，该学者经历曲折，开始在国内中科院某所工作，后到香港。上榜的这篇论文就是他在香港所作的工作。需要反思，如何能做出广泛关注，广泛引用，具有长久影响力的大成果。
