戚氏进士第系戚氏第九世公戚世光于明朝天启二年（公元1622年）高中武科进士后所建。
宅第坐北朝南，原宅为明代建筑，现存大门堂、对厅、敞厅、卷屋、堂屋等前后五进，敞厅正梁上方挂一对贴金雕龙纹“圣旨诰命”木龛。
2010年，该宅被列为市级文物保护单位，并进行修缮。
现辟为“中华武进士馆”，内设戚氏人文、古代兵器、古代兵法、武进士知识等七个展厅，全面介绍了古代武举考试的历史沿革，再现了武举考试等场景。
