the introspection about my reading process

As is known to everyone,one of the difficulty for graduates is that there are always so many references to be read,especially some even all of them are in another language but not our native language!
To be honest ,since I entered my research field,I have been tired of so much reading!At the first beginning I beared a sincere heart to look up to the big men and to read their works word by word,but I really found I got nothing.Because each time after my reading I examined my brain only some fragments like new academic words but without any meaning!For a time I was trapped at a loss,doubting whether I suffered from aphasias.
I can't found the reason and sometimes I have to quit due to the painful experience like loosing your head!
But today is a good beginning!
After a personal dilemma I had been so worried about my graduation for my master's degree in time that I had to turn to my supervisor for help.He gave me a very simple answer but really to the point:first I must take action to solve all the difficult instead of quitting ;second no matter how many questions prevent me ,first solve the biggest one.
This also gives me a shock ,triggering my introspection about reading process!
I realized my problemat once,that I can't make full use of intensive Reading and scanning!
As you know,there are always so much information in a newspaper but you never read evey piece and only focus those you are interested in!
This principle can also apply to our reference reading!
Everyone should know the pattern of paper so the effective information resouce may be a short paragraph.Why do you want to waste so much time in repetitive reading to get those you needn't know?
Maybe the first thing when reading reference is to know why you want to read this paper and which part of the paper can provide your answer.
References are endless but one's time is so precious and limited!
The wisdom of selection is always needed!
PS:At the same time when reading reference you must pay all your attention just like attending class at highschool for National Matriculation Test!If so you can find all the dead words and lines just compose A flowing river and you can catch the meaning easily!Maybe this is the true meaning of sense groups.To improve reading speed, your eyes must take in phrases or groups of words swiftly while your mind is absorbing the ideas.
Don't read word by word but group by group!Read through your heart!
