美国的数学推广月

本文发表在《数学文化》杂志第一卷第二期
四月份是(美国)数学宣传月(Math Awareness Month)。今年的主题是数学和体育。美国数学会为此发表了一篇“Mathematics and Sports, Some of the fascinating mathematics of sports scheduling...”，讲的是图论在比赛时间表的安排上的应用。我想，这样的课题还有很多，比如统计学，计算数学等等。下面是历年来数学推广月的主题：
