读普林斯顿大学校报有感

8月25日在普林斯顿大学走访中看到了该校9月19日校报(Princeton University Bulletin， Vol.101 Number 1)对开张8版。内容丰富, 图文并茂，既有学术动向（如Four new Global Scholars set to visit campus,第8版），和教学活动(如Class of 2015 Arrives)，又有社会活动（如Art groups，University Commemorate 10 Years Since 9/11 第1,7版，Ceremony honors Sept. 11,第8版; Local residents invited to Community and staff Day, 第4版）, 也有生活信息(如第5版NASSAU notes)和校园生活(如Campus sustainability efforts progress over summer and into fall,第6,7版)。还有联结facebook的讨论(如Join the Discussion， Facebook.com/PrincetonU,第4版)

一个有意思的现象是学校不介入政党政治, 从校报中看不到有政党活动的报道, 自然也找不到中国大学校报突出党委书记和各级党组织活动的报道。

The Princeton University Bulletin is the University's official newspaper. It includes news and feature stories about Princeton faculty, staff and students as well as highlights of selected upcoming events on campus. The Bulletin is published monthly when classes are in session, for a total of 10 issues during the academic year. The 2011-12 publication schedule, including copy deadlines, is located below.

Distribution and subscription
The Bulletin is available at various campus locations and is mailed to faculty and staff members, including retirees, at their homes free of charge. Faculty and staff members may switch to office delivery of the Bulletin or stop delivery by visiting the campus publications subscription management website. Paid subscriptions are $10 for the academic year. Anyone may subscribe by sending a check payable to Princeton University to Office of Communications, 22 Chambers St., Suite 201, Princeton, NJ 08542.

Event submission
Campus community members may use the online event submission form to offer items for consideration for publication in the Bulletin; a deadline schedule is below. Event sponsors also are encouraged to post their notices on the University's Public Events Calendar. Questions can be directed to Managing Editor Eric Quiñones.
