高温超导体的物理解释

当某些材料冷却到一定温度时,它们会失去电阻,成为超导体。超导体可成为传输大量电力和其他应用的宝贵资源。比如长距离输送电力,用于医学成像设备(如磁共振成像机)、粒子加速器和磁悬浮列车。出乎意料的是某些陶瓷材料,在充分冷却时也可以成为超导体。
但是,高温超导电性是如何在某些氧化铜材料中发生的,目前还不清楚。1966年有一个研究不同类型超导体的理论假设,该理论认为,在相反方向旋转的电子结合在一起形成所谓的库珀对,并允许电流自由通过材料。
密歇根大学领导的两项研究对超导性进行了物理解释,文章发表在《自然物理学》和《美国国家科学院学报》上。
