上周Lieberman教授来。

 

他与Lichtenberg教授合写的《Regular and Stochastic Motion》是我当年读研究生时看的第一本英文专著。这次开会，还有一位老先生引用该书中的理论作为自己报告的基本出发点。

 

一位学者写的书，世界各国的学生都看，几十年以后还有人用，足矣！

 

 

（二）

 

Princeton的秦老师，报告的题目是《The Second Simplest Physics Problem》。从他的摘要里，摘几句：

     

——

Most physicists would agree that the simplest physics problem is the harmonic oscillator. Of course, the simplest physics problem is the most important physics problem. Then the second simplest physics problem should at least be pretty important as well.

 

      

The question IS what is the simplest physics problem?

这个问题的解，可以引出好多重要的结果！

等离子体所的同行们，终于把ICF的能量耦合到EAST等离子体中去了！

 

不容易。特别是经历了一个春天不见成效的艰苦努力。

请了专家来讲code。

  

虽然是code的算法，其实是物理。比如说grid怎么取，物理上是Hamiltonian的正则坐标怎么取，数学上则是偏微分方程怎样分离变量最简单。
