Sensors developed to detect and measure cancer's ability to spread

This news introduced a research achievement in cancer cell biology. Scientists in University of California-san Diego created fluorescence resonance energy transfer biosensors which could detect the probability of metastasis of cancer cell—the main reason which make cancer so devastating. The hard core of this research is the identifying of a particular protein and its unique modification by comparing proteins and its modification in normal versus all cancer tissues. Fluorescent signals reflected a tumor cell’s metastatic tendency. This biosensors have potential to be a transformative advance for cancer cell biology, but still need further refinement.
