芭蕾舞才女、美国印第安纳大学杰出教授--

Violette Verdy（1933--2016）辞世

   2016年2月8日，美国印第安纳大学(Indiana University, Bloomington, Indinana)发布讣闻，悼念该大学雅可布音乐学院杰出教授、世界著名的芭蕾舞女演员Violette Verdy（1933--2016）辞世。

Violette Verdy（1933--2016）【引自New York Times】

   Violette Verdy于1933年出生于法国西北部的一个海滨小镇，原名为Nelly Armande Guillerm。15岁改用艺名--Violette Verdy，其中，名字“Violette”的意思是美丽的花儿—紫罗兰，她的姓“Verdy”源自伟大的作曲家Giuseppe  Verdi (1813--1901)。

   1953年，Violette Verdy首次访问美国演出。1958--1977年供职于纽约市芭蕾舞团（New York City Ballet-NYCB），担任该团主要演员。这是Violette Verdy舞蹈生涯中的辉煌时光，使之成为20世纪国际著名的芭蕾舞女演员（Ballerina）。

   1996年，Violette Verdy开始担任印第安纳大学雅可布音乐学院（Jacobs School of Music）教职。2005年荣升杰出教授（Distinguished Professor）。(孙启高2016年2月11日晨)
