2018年9月20日，世界顶级科学期刊《Nature》发布中国科学技术大学六十周年校庆宣传特刊《Reflecting on a journey of discovery and innovation》。

该专刊分为60 years of USTC brilliance（中国科大辉煌60年）、Looking back on the road to success（回望成功之路，包信和校长专访）、Crossing Physical boundaries（穿越物理边界）、Engineering real-world solutions、The face of smart technologies、Embracing new medicine（拥抱新医学）与Lighting the way for tomorrow（点亮明日之路）等文章。

需要特别说明的是：本期校庆宣传专刊为广告（Advertisement），在各文章均有标注。不过，中国科大在《自然》杂志上以这种形式做宣传仍不失为良好的创意。这期宣传专刊的封面已在校友中开始流传。
