Perelman获得Clay数学研究所“千禧年数学大奖”

2010年3月18日，Clay数学研究所宣布将第一个百万美元的“千禧年数学大奖”（Clay Mathematics Institute Millennium Prize）颁给为证明Poincare猜想关键步骤作出贡献的俄罗斯数学家Grigoriy Perelman。相关新闻可见Clay研究所网站发布的新闻。

Perelman在2003年左右的三篇文章中为解决Ricci流的singularity问题做出了关键性的贡献，得到Fields奖和Clay千禧奖的肯定。
不过，2006年8月，Perelman拒绝了领取当年世界数学家大会授予的Fields奖。
