Six years ago, well known blogger 李天成 wrote an article promoting a Ron Mahler as a giant or “大牛 in Chinese” on the subject of multi-target estimation. It was not clear at that time whether or not the blogger was really promoting the contributions of Mahler or actually being sarcastic. In response I wrote two blog articles

which in short order gathered 38367 “reads” and 56 “comments”, both good and bad. It is fair to say that a controversy was generated at the time. Not everyone was convinced by what I said. Recently, I happen to be systematically re-reading all my past 800+ articles since April 2007 and came upon these two articles again. With the benefit of hindsight and passage of time, I think I am completely vindicated and can call the issue settled or “蓋棺定論 in Chinese”. Readers, both new and old, might like to re-visit these articles and have a laugh.
