Today, personal computers and smart phones are everywhere. People consume information so much. And Internet giant need build more data centers to meet people’s request for information. Those data centers need more power to support those data centers.

But in another way, many people don’t benefit from the development of information industry.

Those people are from low level of the society and many older people such as sanitation worker also need use those devices to know more about the world. The channels that they get information from the world are so limited. And need training to correctly use information appliances. Once a time when I am shopping from large supermarkets, lost my way to my rental. I ran into a sanitation worker woman who maybe come from Sichuan province through her voice. She couldn’t find the popular app WeChat in her smartphone and ask for my help. In this modern city of shanghai, she also wants to communicate with her friends and relatives located far from shanghai.

From the case that I stated above, so many people around the world need information to help them know the world and to live a better-quality life. On the other hand, many people over consume information resources and bring much pressures on the infrastructural facilities and the environment of the earth. They spent a lot time to watch gossip news and no-sense information, the more time they spent on those devices and the more power needed to sustain those activities.

The bottom of society, the older people in the country and the people in the marginal areas who are live in a small world. Access to information channels of the world is so limited, but internet giant and internet service provider put little resources to support those people’s requirements. The income from those customers is not very high, so ISPs have not much will to invest much in the country.

Information technology was used to increase people’s production efficiency. But Now, Internet giants control how information flow and influence people’s way of life. While making a lot profit, on the contrary, violating users’ privacy incidents are often happening currently.

Information gap exists between different generations, and also there is a gap between city and countryside, inland and coastal areas. It also exists between different education attainments.

How to reduce the information gap between these levels. Need government and ISP invest much on remote district areas and provide training for those people over there who need information much to improve their living standards. It’s the responsibility of government to reduce these gaps between urban and country districts.

Information Gap exists, affecting the quality and balanced network of accountability development. Let’s make effort together to make this world better and make everyone on this world have equal opportunity to enjoy the results of the development of information industry.

The previous generation of people like my parents who have little knowledge about information technology and also even have difficulties to use information devices such as mobile phone and computer. Their need more help from government and ISP to make them live more conveniently.
