China Jinping underground Laboratory (CJPL) is thedeepest underground laboratory in the world. It is located in the centralportion of one of the transport tunnels of a giant hydrodynamic engineeringproject at the huge Jinping Mountain area of Sichuan Province, southwest ofChina. The rock covering thickness of CJPL is about 2400 m where the cosmicmuon flux is about 60/(m2·year). This provides a verypromising environment for dark matter (DM) search. Inside CJPL, China Darkmatter EXperiment (CDEX) employs a point-contact germanium (PCGe) detectorwhose energy threshold is less than 500 eV to search for WIMPs of mass below 10GeV. The detector mass of the first phase CEDX-1 is 1 kg and that of secondphase CDEX-10 is 10 kg. The ultimate goal of the CDEX Collaboration is to setup a ton-scale mass Ge detectors based on the PCGe detector and LAr activeshielding and cooling systems.
