Congratulations to Academician En-ge Wang (王恩哥院士), the associate Editor-in-Chief of our journal, on his being appointed as the dean of Physics School of Peking University According to the news from the official website of Peking University, on November 20, 2009, the Meeting on the Appointment of a New Session of Executive Leadership was held at Physics School of Peking University. Academician En-ge Wang was appointed as the dean of Physics School. 

Enclosed: Resume of Academician En-ge Wang Professor En-ge Wang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, was born in Liaoning province in 1957. He received his doctorate at Department of Physics at Peking University in 1990, and was engaged in postdoctoral research in France and the United States. Currently, he serves as the Deputy General Secretary of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Academician of the developing countries, the Fellow of American Physical Society and Institute of Physics (UK), the honorary professor of University of Hong Kong, and the academic consultants of National Institute for Materials Research Institute (Japan), the University of Chile, and the University of London (UK). Meanwhile, he also serves as the associate editors and the editorial board members of IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology and several other international academic journals. He was the director of the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the dean of Beijing National Laboratory for Condensed Matter Physics.

      Prof. En-ge Wang focuses on surface physics research. He has made significant contributions to the research fields of exploration of new materials and nano-physical properties, atomic-scale growth kinetics, as well as to the surface of water restricted conditions, the complex patterns and so on. He won many prizes and honors, such as the Humboldt Research Award Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung/Foundation, the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) Prize in Physics, the 2nd Place of the National Science and Technology Awards, and the 2002-2003 Achievement in Asia Award (AAA) of the Overseas Chinese Physics Association (OCPA) etc.
