本论文主要研究5G NR的一些关键特性,如大规模MIMO和波束形成,以及如何利用网络设计和规划软件Atoll对这些特性进行建模。为此,在巴塞罗那的一个样本区域部署了一个小区,并进行了不同覆盖范围、信号质量、容量预测和仿真。通过测试并改变一些参数,如接收机高度、发射机高度、发射和接收中使用的天线数量、波束数量、用户数量和不同的MIMO技术,以了解它们对小区可覆盖区域、容量、业务量的影响、可处理的负载和用户体验到的数据速率。从不同的研究中可以看出,波束形成是能够提高信号质量和网络容量的,这得益于指向用户的高增益波束。此外,还展示了不同MIMO技术如何利用分集和容量增益来提高接收机的C/(I+N)电平和用户吞吐量。

 

This thesis consists on the study of some5G NR key features such as massive MIMO and beamforming and how they aremodelled by Atoll, a network design and planning software. For this, a singlecell was deployed on a sample area of Barcelona and different coverage, signalquality, capacity predictions and simulations were carried out. Some parameterssuch as the receiver height, the transmitter height, the number of antennasused in transmission and reception, the number of beams used by the beam-basedantennas, the number of users and the different MIMO techniques, were testedand varied in order to understand their impact in area the cell can cover, itscapacity, the traffic loads that can be handled and the data rates experiencedby the users. From the different studies performed, it was demonstrated howbeamforming improved the signal quality and the network capacity thanks thehigh gain beams pointed toward users. Also, it was shown how the different MIMOtechniques made use of diversity and capacity gains to improve the C/(I+N)level at the receiver and the user throughput.
