The discovery of IP3 as the calcium-mobilizing second messenger


"With Robin's verified stock of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate; the calcium-mobilising form of IP3, Irene's permeabilized cells (质膜通透的大鼠胰腺腺泡细胞) and her post-doc Hans-Peter Streb performing the experiments, it was straight forward to show that IP3 selectively evoked calcium release from a non-mitochondrial calcium store (内质网钙库).
