新外籍院士王小凡的学术贡献

王小凡,著名癌症生物学家。1955年出生于中国乌鲁木齐,1982年毕业于武汉大学生物化学专业,同年考入中国科学院遗传研究所,并在当年举办的首届"中美生物化学联合招生项目"(CUSBEA)中取得第一名的成绩赴美留学。1986年获加州大学洛杉矶分校博士学位,之后在麻省理工学院师从癌症生物学大家Robert A. Weinberg从事博士后研究。1992年被聘为杜克大学药理学和肿瘤生物学系助理教授,成为最早在杜克大学执教的华人教授之一。1998年成为终身教授,2003年晋升为正教授。现任杜克大学医学中心药理学和肿瘤生物学Donald and Elizabeth Cooke终身讲席教授。
