Issue



The Atlantic Monthly is a high prestige low circulation magazine in the US. Its 

July/August Issue is a special on China – has articles on travel, art, religion, and 

future of Sino-America relationship. The lead article is entitled:



China Makes, The World Takes 

A look inside the world's manufacturing center shows that America should welcome China's

The author is the magazine's national editor, a well respected journalist who currently 

lives in Shanghai. At the magazine's web site

you can actually listen and view a narrated slide show as described above. However, to 

read the entire article requires a subscription to the magazine. Someone actually sent me a 

copy of the above article which is very well written. But I am not sure about the legality 

of publishing it openly in a blog. Instead I am forwarding the copy to the Editor-in-chief 

of ScienceNet, Zhao Yan, who can decide how to distribute it to anyone interested in 

reading the article without violating copyright issues.
