How to fix the ills of Capitalism

The drawbacks of capitalism are well known: among them the inequality of “The Rich get richer, and the poor, poorer”. The sport league, the National Basketball League of the US, has figured out a way ( a set of rules) to prevent such drawbacks from destroying their own capitalistic enterprise. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/29/opinion/income-inequality-nba-socialism.html . Basically, they force the rich teams (located in big cities) to share revenue with poorer teams (located in less wealthy cities), limit the amount of money each team can spend to buy players, and give poorer team first choice at signing new promising players. Such rules levels the playfield and makes the game interesting to watch which ultimately help the entire sport.  Too bad such rules cannot be implemented in a general societal setting.
