Annual Review系列期刊由Annual Reviews出版社主办。Annual Reviews (http://www.annualreviews.org/)定位于非营利性科学出版机构，创建于1932年，目前拥有37种年度综述类期刊，涵盖生物医学、生命科学、物质科学和社会科学等领域。

Annual Review系列期刊的特点：

(1) 历史悠久。2009年7月份出版的Annual Review of Biochemistry已是该刊的第78卷，另外几份创刊时间较长的期刊：Annual Review of Physiology (71卷)，Annual Review of Microbiology (63卷)，Annual Review of Plant Biology (60卷)，Annual Review of Medicine (60卷)，Annual Review of Physical Chemistry (60卷)，Annual Review of Psychology (60卷)。

此外，Annual Reviews还在不断推出新刊，如：2008年创办了Annual Review of Analytical Chemistry，2009年新创了Annual Review of Marine Science，Annual Review of Resource Economics，Annual Review of Economics，Annual Review of Financial Economics，2010年将推出Annual Review of Food Science and Technology，等等。

(2) 影响深远。Annual Reviews很自豪地宣称自己的产品属于“the most highly cited in scientific literature”。2008年度JCR中，影响因子大于20的期刊有33种，其中Annual Review系列期刊就有7种，约占总数的21%。实际上，Annual Reviews期刊的影响因子在很多研究领域中处于领跑位置，如Annual Review of Earth and Planetary Sciences的影响因子虽然只有6.364，但在地球科学类期刊中是最高的。

在2008年度JCR中，计有29种Annual Reviews的期刊被收录，影响因子Max.=41.059 (Annu Rev Immunol), Min.=2.235 (Annu Rev Clin Psycho), 平均为14.624，其整体影响力实在是令众多的期刊出版者难以望其项背。

       (3) 作品精良。Annual Review系列期刊的品牌和影响力应当归因于其精良的运作模式。该系列期刊只发表编委会组约的综述性论文，每刊每年只出版1卷(期)，每期700页左右，刊载综述13–34篇。
