NASKO 2009, and first chapter meeting of ISKO-C/US

The Second North American Symposium on Knowledge Organization (NASKO 2009) will be held in Syracuse, NY, June 18-19, 2009. The theme will be "Pioneering North American contributions to knowledge organization." This will be the first meeting of ISKO-C/US, the newly formed Canadian and United States chapter of ISKO. More details are available at the conference website. The deadline for submission of abstracts of papers was January 1, 2009.

First Conference of ISKO-UK.

The First Conference of the British ISKO Chapter will be held in London, England, June 22-23, 2009. The theme will be "Content architecture: Exploiting and managing diverse resources." The conference chair is Vanda Broughton. More details are available at the conference website. The deadline for submission of abstracts of papers was December 1, 2008.

Seventh Conference of ISKO-France.

The Seventh Conference of the French ISKO Chapter will be held in Lyon, France, June 24-26, 2009. The theme will be "Konwledge organization and collectively shared knowledge." The program co-chairs are Mabrouka El Hachani (Université Lyon 3) and Mohamed Hassoun (ENSSIB). More details are available at the chapter website. The deadline for submission of papers was February 1, 2009.

Twelfth Conference of the German ISKO Chapter.

The Twelfth Conference of the German ISKO Chapter will be held in Bonn, Germany, October 19-21, 2009. The theme will be "Knowledge - Science - Organization." The program chair is Peter Ohly (GESIS). Ninth Congress of ISKO-España.

The Ninth Congress of the Spanish ISKO Chapter was held in Valencia, Spain, March 11-13, 2009. The theme was "New perspectives for the organisation and dissemination of knowledge." More details are available at the congress website.

ISKO 2008.

The Tenth International ISKO Conference was held in Montréal, Canada, August 5-8, 2008. The theme was "Culture and Identity in Knowledge Organization," and the conference chair was Clément Arsenault. Full details are available at the conference website, including the final conference program.

Eleventh Conference of the German ISKO Chapter.

IKONE-2007.

The first International Conference on the Future of Knowledge Organization in the Networked Environment, organized by the Documentation Research & Training Centre at the Indian Statistical Institute in association with ISKO, was held in Bangalore, India, September 3-5, 2007. Third Meeting of ISKO-Italia.

The Third Meeting of the Italian ISKO Chapter, in association with the Biblioteca di Ateneo of the Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca (UniMIB), was held in Milan, Italy, June 22, 2007. Full details are available at the meeting website.

NASKO and ISKO-NA.

The North American Symposium on Knowledge Organization (NASKO) was held in Toronto, Canada, June 14-15, 2007. The symposium was hosted by the Faculty of Information Studies at the University of Toronto, and the chair of the planning committee was Richard P. Smiraglia. The symposium hosted a paper session on the state of the art of knowledge organization research (papers are available on dLIST here), and an organizational meeting for the new North American chapter of ISKO (ISKO-NA). New ISKO-UK chapter.

A new ISKO chapter has been formed in the United Kingdom. The first open meeting and constitutional session of ISKO-UK was held in London, England, March 26, 2007, and Vanda Broughton was elected as chairperson. Forthcoming events are listed on the ISKO-UK website.
