刘德培(1950~),男,1950年5月4日生,安徽阜南人,中国工程院院士、医学分子生物学家,现任中国医学科学院院长、中国协和医科大学校长、中国协和医科大学研究生院院长,中国工程院原副院长。

重大发现

  在胎儿型珠蛋白基因重新开启表达与珠蛋白基因表达调控和地中海贫血基因治疗的研究中,

  发现马利兰可显著增强成年贫血恒河猴与β地贫患者胎儿型珠蛋白基因的表达;

  发现HS2是β基因红系增强子及其关键部位NFE 2/AP I位点;

  发现不同长度的红系增强子在反转录病毒载体介导的基因转移中增强β基因的表达;

  发现TC1转座子在哺乳动物细胞中发生高频倒位;

  证明基因座控制区与近端调节元件共同指导β珠蛋白基因簇的发育调控;

  建立了βE与b41/42基因、BAC介导的a/b-珠蛋白基因簇和人载脂蛋白AI/CIII/AIV/AV基因簇三类转基因动物模型;

  用杂合寡核苷酸介导实现了β基因定点修复。
