我读的英文小说不太多，大概只有五六十本，因为我读得太慢了，而且体会不到其中的妙处——文字我能读懂，但是很难体会其中的文化，我更愿意读中译本。现在书架上还有几本英文小说，但是再也不会看了。
我读的第一本英文小说是Gone with Wind，那时候刚上大学，是为了学英语。我最喜欢的英文小说是the Lord of the Rings，那时候在做博士后，需要偶尔放松一下。这本书能让我产生情感上的共鸣，可能是因为让我联想到了某些对应的中文场景。我还翻译过其中的几首诗。
